We had a great practice last night! Paul was very impressed with how far you have already come! He will be there tonight and give us feedback on how you do. Lets show everyone how good you are tonight!

AF Comp Schedule

We will meet at AF High School at 6:00 pm on Friday for medleys and 7:00 pm on Saturday for Team Match. Those of you competing individuals on Saturday will need to be there earlier in the day.

Provo Team Match Info

We have been working for several weeks on the teams, partnerships, and costumes for Team Match today. So, please know we have not treated this lightly and a lot of thought and planning has gone into what would be the best situation for the team and everyone. Here is what we have decided.
We will have two teams, as you know: the Blue Team and the Gold Team. Here is the info for what you will wear and who you will dance with.
Blue Team
Team captains: Tom & Tiffany
Ladies’ costumes:
Standard - purple and green dresses used for foxtrot last year
Latin - Latin medley
Mens’ costumes:
Standard – white tux shirt, long black tie, standard medley vest, w/ latin pants
Latin – Latin medley
Waltz: Alan & Chelsie
Samba: Whitney & Sam
Tango: Jason & Aubrey
CC: Tom & Tiffany
Quickstep: Paris & Amanda
Swing: Kyle & Kim
Gold Team
Team Captains: Jake & Livi
Ladies costumes:

Awesome Comp!

You guys did an awesome job at the comp! OHS has never done a Latin Medley before, and you got 2nd on the first try! I don’t think there was any other team who had so many team members dancing in both the Latin and the Standard Medleys!
We also placed higher in the Team Match than we ever had before. We were in 1st after the Waltz, and never below 3rd the whole time!
Thanks for working so hard and putting in the long hours. You really reaped the benefits of your practice!
Good job on your individual competitions. Olivia is now 2nd in the nation in Youth Smooth (actually above her age group). Rob, Rebecca, Tiffany, Jason, and Tom also did great by placing in the finals!

BYU comp tickets

Because we are requiring that everyone compete at the BYU competition, we will purchase your tickets for the day of your event. We will also be purchasing tickets for those in the medleys and Team Match on those days as well. This means we will purchase tickets for the following:
Thursday
Everyone (both medleys, swing, and waltz/quickstep compete Thursday)
Friday
Everyone except Brityn (Team Match and samba/rumba compete Friday)
Saturday
Brityn and Tom (Foxtrot/Cha Cha compete Saturday)
Tickets are for the entire day and you can exit and enter the Marriott Center multiple times, as long as you have your ticket and hand stamp. This competition is an excellent opportunity to see the best ballroom dancers in the country! We would encourage you to come to as much of the 3 days of the competition as you can.
If you would like to buy a ticket for the day we are not already buying for you (Friday for Brityn, Saturday for everyone else), it will save you money to get it as part of a 3 day package at the same time we buy all the other tickets.
If you want to do this, you have to pay $9 at the school financial office BY THIS WEDNESDAY (Feb 27)! After Wednesday, you will have to pay the normal student rate for the extra day.
This is only for your tickets and is the student rate. Your parents, family, and friends can purchase tickets from the Marriott Center tickets office or online at www.byutickets.com.
