“Don’t Stop the Music” OHS Ballroom in Concert May 15 & 16

The OHS Ballroom Teampresents their Spring Concert �Don�t Stop the Music!�� Performances will be May 15th & 16th at 7:00 pm in the OHS Elison Auditorium.� Tickets will be on sale soon for $5 per person.

This exciting show will feature�several�of our most popular and new numbers including �Fasten Your Seatbelts�� – our new funky Blacklight routine, as well as other new routines!� Also featured in our show will be several of this year�s top national youth dancers.� Please join us for a wonderful and entertaining evening of many different styles of ballroom dance!

Freshman Assembly tomorrow

We just discovered today that they are planning on having an assembly practice tomorrow at 6:00 am before school for the Freshman Orientation assembly. This will be a good thing, since we also discovered that we cannot use most of the stage, since there is still a play set on it. This means we will be doing most of the dancing on the apron over the orchestra pit. We may have to slightly modify some parts to accommodate this. We also will have to figure out where we are going to put the blacklights. �

So, please be to the auditorium by 6:00 am tomorrow morning with your costume essentials so we can practice the Blacklight number on the apron in costume.

Blacklight Performance and Costumes

Great job on the Blacklight number today in the assembly! The school really seemed to like it. We are particularly happy that everyone came to the dress rehearsal before school, with almost everyone there on time. We know it was early; thanks for being there. (We also would rather do them at another time or day, but that is the way the school works right now.) We think we also had a great practice session during A1, being able to get through the choreography of the Paso.

We need your help – somehow we are missing a men’s black button down dress shirt. We looked everywhere on the stage and in the dressing room areas, but could not find it. We actually lost a pair of latin pants at the Holiday Concert also, so now we have lost both pants and a shirt for the blacklight number. If you know anything about either of these or have seen them anywhere or hear anyone talk about them, please let us know. The pants will probably cost $70 to replace, and the shirt may cost $30-40. That is $100+ that we can’t put towards the tour. �=(
